I took my first step Standing on borrowed ground Standing on borrowed, borrowed ground Now you, you may say that I’m ungrateful in every way That I'm too young, too stubborn, too smart for my own good But do you know what I see? You don’t seem so happy You don’t often smile So I don’t think I’ll go back home So I don’t think I’ll go back home So you tell me don’t run away Think I might ruin my life So you tell me don’t run away Say I might break my, break my heart So I don’t think I’ll find myself going back home Woo! I appreciate the sentiment listen and you will see I still call this home I still call this home I still call this home

Amusing 04:26
Smoke rings drift across the morning sky, As the bats in the distance are learning to fly. Our borders blur and our thoughts collide And the feeling it brings makes a home in the sky Now I know your mind as well As the pauper who drinks and her mind's not well She taunts me with her sullen eyes And the story she tells wets the untrained eye We wandered on among the trees The feeling spreads like a social disease The minds they wonder in tandem at ease And the feeling it makes brings us both to our knees Now I know your mind as well As the pauper who drinks and her mind's not well She taunts me with her sullen eyes And the story she tells wets the untrained eye Now I know your mind as well As the pauper who drinks and her mind's not well She taunts me with her sullen eyes And the story she tells wets the untrained eye I'm not trying to be amusing but you must recall When we travelled on from the makings of the walls I'm not trying to be amusing but you must recall When we travelled on from the makings of the walls

Self-Exclusion Stand tall while you wear your black veil Hold the hand of your child who surely will not fail Never mind the pity, they are worriers and they don’t know How you can go on and on and on all on your own You give me hope That it will go right While this goes on I'll leave my head in the sand Look at that line of mourners, here to watch you wail I will not be a part of their endless, mindless trail I won't preach to you, but you will find That over and over again they will try to steal your weary mind You give me hope That it will go right While this goes on I'll leave my head in the sand Leave me while I leave my head in the sand Leave me while I leave my head in the sand I will not join in on their game anymore It feels like one long drawn out war I cannot bear to face the outside I’d rather sit inside out of the cold You give me hope That it will go right You give me hope You make me whole Leave me while I leave my head in the sand Leave me while I leave my head in the sand

about

The Rider Sydney, Australia

The Rider emerged in 2010 from a love of trippy guitar jams, big harmonies and groovy rhythms. Based on Gadigal land (Sydney), The Rider is a group of friends that wrote songs inspired by music they love, taking influences from 60s rock, psych, jazz, blues and soul.

You can find the music of Henry Manuell, Tom Hume & Calum Nicholson in their new projects: Othrship, Dovetale and Midnight Tangos.
